I don't know about Riverside Caravan Park : it's one of those places where the sum of the parts seems to outstrip the whole.  The pitches, on a mixture of hardstanding and grass, are fine.  Location is reasonable - just outside High Bentham, not too far away from the Dales.  The toilet and shower block is extremely good.  So why am I not enthused?  I don't know.  The weather didn't help : it was a particularly grotty weekend, and it almost felt like the place was closed for the winter. 

 

 

Maybe on reading the reviews and list of facilities, we'd built it up too much so it could only fail.  The price didn't help - we paid over £20, and looking at their website now, an overnight Saturday stay on hardstanding with a couple of dogs would set us back £29.60.  I guess sometimes even when all the elements of a site are right, something just doesn't gel for us as individuals.

 

Would we go back?  I doubt it, but can't put my finger on why.
