Plas Farm

Plas Farm is an independent site near Abergele, Wales.
We've visited once, in September 2008.

Plas Farm

The unique selling point of this site, other than the obvious care & attention devoted by its owners, is it has a satellite hookup system.  Basically you can bring along your own Sky box, hook it onto the bollard, and watch via their satellite system - handy if you've not got a dish installed on your van.

Plas Farm's a small but growing site.  When we were there, I'd estimate that there were approximately 30 pitches for motorhomes and caravans, plus a tent field.  The site was impeccably kept, and well featured with all pitches having EHU and their own water supply/drain.  The photos here are taken from the owner's website - must admit when we visited, we were one of only five or six vans, which made it a lot less hectic than it looks in these pictures.

The small shower block is of good quality and kept very clean.

The site is located in Betws-yn-Rhos, which is a small village inland of Abergele.  The beaches down on the coast can be reached in about ten minutes, as can the shops, takeaways etc in Abergele and Colwyn Bay.  However, back in the countryside, things are considerably more tranquil.  Access to the site can be a little hairy...the roads to Betws-yn-Rhos are on the narrow side, so not fun if you meet something coming the other way.

Would we go back?  Doubtful.  It would be a reasonable question to ask why, given it ticks all the boxes : indeed, for a long time it topped our "favorite site" spreadsheet.  Quite simply, it's cost...Plas Farm is a lovely spot, but we paid £14/night...nowadays with our setup including the dogs the price varies from £21.50-£31.50.  It's a nice location, but we just can't justify spending that much on a site.
