North Ledaig CC

Another site in western Scotland with amazing views, this time across to Mull.

The site is very big, probably a couple of hundred yards deep by half a mile wide.  It's also very open, with not much to break up the monotony of caravans looking out to sea.  However, once you're pitched, even if you're at the back the steepness of the slope means other vans aren't a distraction.  At the bottom of the site is a beach, which is great for exercising dogs (there's a separate dog-walking area on a dis-used railway at the back of the site as well).

Most pitches have hookups, and most are hardstandings.  Pitches are allocated by the site management : if I have a gripe, it's that the dedicated hardstandings for motorhomes were at the back and not as large as caravan pitches...they were plenty big enough, but I'm sure we don't get a discount so why pack more pitches in because we happen to have an engine at the front of our unit?

The toilet blocks were of usual CC good quality.

Things to do?  Well enjoy the view, walk on the beach...the next one along is very secluded so nice for a quiet day.  The roads in the area are quiet, and a bike ride along Loch Etive is worthwhile.

There's a Co-op and Tesco in Oban about 10 miles south, alternatively there's a reasonably well-stocked shop at the site itself.

Would we go back?  Probably.
