Milarrochy Bay is a Camping and Caravanning Club site on the banks of Loch Lomond, Scotland. We've visited once, in March 2012.
The site management were very friendly. As with all C&CC sites, there's a mixture of grass and hardstandings, and a good mix of people in tents and caravans/motorhomes. Electric Hookups are available. We were pitched on hardstanding on a row that didn't directly front the loch, but the positioning of the pitches meant there was still an excellent view. There is a dog-walk, but we didn't use it, preferring to walk along the loch side. It's a surprisingly long way from Balloch to the site, and the last mile or so it along a road where two wide vehicles would struggle to pass. Not a great problem, but there is a very steep hill out of Balmaha where I was losing traction even on a dry day, so that could be an issue in inclement weather. As this road is so quiet, though, it makes an ideal place for a scenic cycle ride. There's a convenience store in Balmaha, otherwise it's necessary to go to Balloch for any larger shopping.
Would we go back? Absolutely....indeed it's probably just about near enough to go for a weekend...
