This takes us back...Bala was the very first site we stayed on after we got our first motorhome.  So the memories are more of working out hour to do the EHU, water, toilet, canopy etc while not looking too stupid to the people around us, rather than anything about the site itself.

 

In common with the Ryanair-esque approach to naming by the C&CC, the Bala site isn't in the town of Bala itself, but 3-4 miles north.  That said, it's a nice location, near enough to a main road to be convenient, but not to near so as to suffer from traffic noise.  The last couple of hundred yards up to the site is narrow.

 

The site has a mixture of grass and hardstanding pitches, with EHU if required.  The shower block was of good standard.  There's a small playground for kids and if memory serves me correctly, they won't be lonely as there were plenty of them around.

 

Bala is a pleasant enough town, with everything you need from a shopping perspective.

 

 

There's a few nice walks from the site, and also a roundtrip cycle ride if you continue up the lane (well I say roundtrip, it didn't start off that way but after I was chased by a farm dog, I didn't much fancy returning the same way so a 10 mile roundtrip it was...).

 

Would we go back?  Probably, if only for old time's sake.
